The impetus for this blog is a trip to Italy that I’ve been
invited to go on with my son, Patrick. Italy
has always been at the very top of my list of European countries that I’d like
to visit. To get his phone call with the
invitation was such a surprise and a delight!
I‘ve been given the assignment to come up with an itinerary and I knew
just where to look for inspiration!
Frances Mayes books “Under the Tuscan Sun” and “Bella
Italy” have long been favorites of mine and I re-read them almost on a yearly
basis… I’ve always wanted to go along
with Frances and her husband Ed as they traveled the Tuscan and Umbrian
countrysides …eating the delicious local foods, drinking the signature wines of
the region and taking in all the sights Frances so vividly describes. And now we’ll create a road map and revel our
chance to travel in their footsteps as we go, “Traveling Under the Tuscan Sun!”
